Judge Robert L. Steinberg
Judge Robert L. Steinberg was elected as a Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in 1997, and retained for an additional ten (10) year term in 2007. Prior to his election as Judge, he was the District Attorney of Lehigh County from 1991-1997. He also served the District Attorney's Office as the First Assistant District Attorney from 1988-1991, a Deputy District Attorney from 1985-1988, and an Assistant District Attorney 1978-1983. He was an Assistant Public Defender from 1976-1978. He is the recipient of a number of awards, including the John K. Schafer Memorial Award in recognition of exemplary service to law enforcement. He also has been a lecturer, a member of the faculty and an author of criminal law related articles for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and other organizations. Judge Steinberg is a life-long resident of Lehigh County, and a graduate of William Allen High School, American University, and Western New England School of Law.
