Civil/Family Motion/Miscellaneous Court is scheduled every Monday through Friday at 9:30 am The Civil/Family Court Division judges rotate this assignment. In civil and family cases assigned to a judge, all motions and petitions must be presented to that judge either in that judge's weekly motions court, or when that judge sits in Civil/Family Motion/Miscellaneous Court or by mail.

In civil and family cases not assigned to a judge, civil and family motions and petitions must be presented to the Civil/Family Motion/Miscellaneous Court judge. Counsel must provide the opposing party with 5 days prior written notice of the presentation of any motion or petition, which shall include the date, time and courtroom. These matters are presented at 9:30 am for all judges. Counsel should contact Court Administration to determine the courtroom for Civil/Family Motion/Miscellaneous Court for a particular day.

In addition to the motions and petitions described above, hearings are held on support issues, protection from abuse matters and miscellaneous civil matters in Civil/Family Motion/Miscellaneous Court. These hearings are scheduled by the Family Court Operations Officer. Counsel should contact Court Administration for available dates for scheduling hearings.
