Act 44 - Probation Reform
Pennsylvania Senate Bill 838, also known as Act 44, went into effect on June 11, 2024. The law aims to reduce probation supervision in certain cases by allowing a review conference for probationers who have completed their conditions, enabling probation officers to focus more on high-risk individuals. In situations where a violation occurs, the act outlines specific sanctions that correspond to the total number of technical infractions a probationer has incurred.
