Mission Statement

The Lehigh County Adult Probation/Parole Department's mission is to aid in reducing the incidents of crime in the community through field-based supervision, treatment, and rehabilitation, thus protecting the public from recurring criminal and antisocial behavior.

The primary goal of the Probation and Parole Department is to protect the community while promoting positive behavioral change. This is accomplished through field-based supervision, evidence-based practices, and close coordination with treatment agencies.

Since 2020, the department has been integrating evidence-based practices into its standard supervision procedures. The use of evidence-based practices is a key factor in creating safer communities, reducing recidivism, enhancing collaboration, and lowering costs. The department remains committed to providing high-quality services to the individual on supervision and their families, as well as the courts, victims, and the community by maintaining a balanced approach to law enforcement and treatment.
