JUROR SCAM ALERT
Lehigh County Court Administration has received numerous reports from residents regarding calls from individuals identifying themselves with the Lehigh County Sheriff's Office or with the U.S. Marshals Service. The call is often spoofed with the caller ID appearing to come from Lehigh County or the U.S. Marshals Service. The caller is alleging that there is a signed order from a judge for the resident’s failure to appear for jury service. The caller informs the resident that they can pay a fine in person at the Clerk of Court or send payment via pre-paid card immediately. In other instances, the caller requests sensitive information from the resident, including contact information, credit card information, or bank accounts.
Please be advised that Lehigh County will not contact residents via phone for their failure to appear for jury service. Additionally, Lehigh County will never request payment of any kind, including wire transfer or pre-paid card, for fines over the phone. All communication from Lehigh County regarding any aspect of jury service will be in writing – either via U.S. Mail or via email from ejury@lehighcounty.org.
If a resident receives an unsolicited call regarding jury service, the resident is encouraged to:
