How to File an Emergency PFA Petition
Family Court Division

An Emergency PFA Petition can be requested after 4:00 p.m. at the office of the night duty Magisterial District Judge. After business hours and on weekends, your police department can connect you with the "night duty" Magisterial District Judge. The Magisterial District Judge may issue an Emergency PFA Order if he/she believes that you are in immediate danger.

If you are granted an Emergency PFA, your Emergency Order will expire the next business day.

If you want a Temporary PFA Order, go to the Family Court Office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. and file a Petition for a PFA.
